The Drowsy Chaperone

Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar,
music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison.
This Tony Award winning parody of American musical comedy, tells the story of a reclusive musical theatre fan with a hyperactive fantasy life, who finds comfort in Broadway cast recordings. As he settles into his armchair to listen to his favourite musical; a fictional 1920ís Broadway hit The Drowsy Chaperone; the song and dance frolic based around the upcoming marriage of a Broadway star quite literally bursts to life in his apartment! Add a couple of gangsters and a surprise visit by an aviatrix, this two-shows-in-one feel good comedy is filled to the brim with fun!
